Roger Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Sérgio Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Arce in the 14th minute of play forced Catuira's goalkeeper Sérgio Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sérgio Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Ferraz in the 18th minute of the match. The Palmelo SC fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Palmelo SC's Roger Ferraz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 39th minute, one of Palmelo SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palmelo SC. After recieving a nice pass, Palmelo SC's Dino Leite tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Arce to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Roger Ferraz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Abel Arce got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Roger Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Bezerra having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Palmelo SC's Sérgio Bezerra threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abel Arce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Francisco Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Linhares having to interfere. Abel Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
