Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Guilherme Brito kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the game, Jaime Meirelles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nazarezinho EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acadêmicos the free kick. The supporters of Acadêmicos booed when Nazarezinho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandinho Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Brito in the 8th minute of the match. Zé Pedro Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but André Pirani made a huge save. André Pirani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Pedro Galvão in the 13th minute. Fernandinho Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Brito in the 17th minute of play. Silvinho do Vale charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvinho do Vale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Nazarezinho EC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Silvinho do Vale hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nazarezinho EC's zone, Guilherme Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Barral came out of the goal and Guilherme Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Acadêmicos's Lenílson Leal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernandinho Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. André Pirani came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Nazarezinho EC's Zé Pedro Galvão. But to his dismay, Zé Pedro Galvão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 46th minute, Válter Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Acadêmicos's Celsinho Cardozo got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. André Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Acadêmicos's Lenílson Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Guilherme Brito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Acadêmicos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Acadêmicos's zone, Zé Pedro Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Pirani came out of the goal and Zé Pedro Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guilherme Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Barral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Meirelles in the 73rd minute of play forced Acadêmicos's goalkeeper André Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Zé Pedro Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Pedro Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guilherme Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Barral having to interfere. Acadêmicos's André Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Galvão in the 91st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Renato Ferraz during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Nazarezinho EC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Renato Ferraz hit a great ball. Guilherme Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Fernandinho Barral made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guilherme Brito in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernandinho Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nazarezinho EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Acadêmicos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
