Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Taguariaiva's Pedrão Santana started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Luizão Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Luizão Queiroz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gláuber Maia to make any attempt to save it. Luizão Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Gláuber Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Urycuca. In the 18thth minute of the game Luizão Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taguariaiva's Gláuber Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Faustão Donato cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gláuber Maia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aníbal Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Giovanni Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genílson Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Genílson Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Genílson Martins hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Luizão Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luís Fábio Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
After a defensive mix-up in Taguariaiva's zone, Faustão Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gláuber Maia came out of the goal and Faustão Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luizão Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chiquinho Marquez's late challenge caught a Urycuca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chiquinho Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Taguariaiva got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Marquez. João Paulo Amaral, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Luizão Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustão Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the match, Taguariaiva's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Queiroz came free, but Gláuber Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Santana in the 89th minute of play. If Pedrão Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gláuber Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
