Guto Meireles started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Edinho Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Loureiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 19 minutes into the match. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Douradoquara! In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Ferreiro. Marcelo Goiano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chico do Vale. 0-1. Vitinho de Almeida's late challenge caught a Douradoquara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitinho de Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. Vitinho de Almeida hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gildo Mattos got free with Délio Duarte in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guto Meireles succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 25th playminute. When Vitinho de Almeida was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 36 minutes had been played. The supporters of Douradoquara booed when Ferreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitinho de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Gildo Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Douradoquara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gildo Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rdth minute of the game Valdemar Souza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Douradoquara's Chico do Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdemar Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gildo Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Araújo during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Egídio Araújo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the game, Douradoquara's Guto Meireles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Délio Duarte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Gildo Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Délio Duarte came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Douradoquara's Guto Meireles. But to his dismay, Guto Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Aílton Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chico do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Valdemar Souza struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Chico do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferreiro. After having played for 69 minutes, Valdemar Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ferreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdemar Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otávio Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Duarte having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gildo Mattos in the 78th minute of play forced Ferreiro's goalkeeper Délio Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Gildo Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douradoquara's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otávio Freire struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Délio Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douradoquara. Gildo Mattos took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Délio Duarte. Délio Duarte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. A collision led to Douradoquara getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Nelsinho Neiva hit a great ball. Valdemar Souza's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Chico do Vale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Guto Meireles struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Délio Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douradoquara. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Douradoquara fully deserved thier win.
