In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Albano AD's goalkeeper Dráusio Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Albano AD's zone, João Adolfo Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráusio Azevedo came out of the goal and João Adolfo Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that João Adolfo Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dráusio Azevedo was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Edvaldo Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio Azevedo having to interfere. A collision led to Albano AD getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Oscar Leão hit a great ball. In the 11th match minute, Albano AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Freitas to maneuver through the defense. After 12 minutes, Jano Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albano AD and the Cunhanji players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Albano AD getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jano Ribeiro hit a great ball. Dadá Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wesley Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Adolfo Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 26 minutes, Dadá Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albano AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dadá Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Albano AD's zone, Edvaldo Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráusio Azevedo came out of the goal and Edvaldo Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dadá Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Adolfo Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio Azevedo having to interfere. Edvaldo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dráusio Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Adolfo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cunhanji's Wesley Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Cunhanji from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dadá Soeiro was the one to do the kick off. Edvaldo Matos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Dráusio Azevedo 53 minutes into the match. Albano AD's Dráusio Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Matos in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Albano AD's Edgard Freitas got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Cunhanji's Jacinto de Godoi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 68th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Albano AD. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Matos in the 69th minute of play forced Albano AD's goalkeeper Dráusio Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Adolfo Simãos short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Dráusio Azevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 79th minute Edvaldo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráusio Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvaldo Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edvaldo Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráusio Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Glauco Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Wesley Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Edvaldo Matos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dráusio Azevedo. The goal made the score 0-2.
