Arthur Dracena came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Eliel United F.C's Cafu Carneiro. But to his dismay, Cafu Carneiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ruy da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Carlos Augusto Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Carneiro in the 30th minute of play forced CHURUPITAS FC's goalkeeper Arthur Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cafu Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Eliel United F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cafu Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Arthur Dracena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando da Rocha's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. If Cafu Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Didi Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Tande having to interfere. A collision led to Eliel United F.C getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Edgar de Souza hit a great ball. Ruy da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Eliel United F.C's zone, Didi Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Augusto Tande came out of the goal and Didi Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 minutes Eliel United F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Germano Dias who took care of the corner kick. In the 48th minute of the match CHURUPITAS FC got a corner. Eliel United F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Germano Dias ran over to the corner to take the kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruy da Rocha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Ruy da Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Augusto Tande. Eliel United F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Arthur Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eurico Pires during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored Eliel United F.C's protests and gave Gilvan Reis a yellow card for diving instead. Gilvan Reis hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Carlos Augusto Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy da Rocha in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Didi Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CHURUPITAS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi Motta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 90 minutes, Didi Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CHURUPITAS FC and the Eliel United F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Didi Motta hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Carlos Augusto Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Motta in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute Ruy da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CHURUPITAS FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Eliel United F.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
