Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Abel Messias got the match started through his kick off. Hélio Loyola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gildo Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélio Loyola in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gildo Rocha saved Itaibo from getting behind. In the 10th minute of the match Valério Melo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gildo Rocha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fausto Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Messias in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dias da Gama's Duarte Goiano got a free kick in the 24th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz Sarmento during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Dias da Gama getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Valério Melo hit a great ball. Tiago Gabriel Bertassi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Fausto Vides made a huge save. With a little luck, Dias da Gama's Fausto Vides got control of the ball when Tiago Gabriel Bertassi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Abel Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaibo's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Dias da Gama's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abel Messias fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After the first half Dias da Gama were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
In the 53rd minute, Tiago Gabriel Bertassi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Dias da Gama getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Iuri Lara hit a great ball. Itaibo's Tiago Gabriel Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Itaibo's Tiago Gabriel Bertassi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Vides narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hélio Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Célio Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélio Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gildo Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duarte Goiano during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Dias da Gama's Egídio Carvalho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egídio Carvalho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Dias da Gama protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egídio Carvalho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dias da Gama fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Itaibo. Leonardo Prestes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fausto Vides. 1-2. In the 86th minute, Abel Messias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Vides was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.
