Deivid Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Diego Maranhense made a huge save. The supporters of Chapada booed when Acarahu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Virgílio Breckenfeld was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acarahu AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chapada the free kick. After a rather tough play, Acarahu AD's Virgílio Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Virgílio Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Terra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Arce having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Virgílio Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute Vladimir Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateus Mandrak's late challenge caught a Chapada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Mandrak helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chapada booed when Acarahu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Breckenfeld in the 34th minute of play forced Chapada's goalkeeper Marcos Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Virgílio Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chapada's Deivid Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladimir Tasso in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diego Maranhense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Marcos Arce was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Carlos Fernando de Azevedo. Virgílio Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Hugo Terra in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Marcos Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Acarahu AD's zone, Vladimir Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Maranhense came out of the goal and Vladimir Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute, Chapada's Ediberto de Mendonça seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ediberto de Mendonça the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chapada protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ediberto de Mendonça had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Marcos Arce, was totally fooled by Acarahu AD's Franklin Moura, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ricardinho Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Neto in the 96th minute of play. After having played for 98 minutes, Virgílio Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acarahu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgílio Breckenfeld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Acarahu AD players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
