Ulisses Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vladimir Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Tasso in the 9th minute of play forced Arabuta's goalkeeper Ulisses Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ulisses Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Fausto Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arabuta's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marcos Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Chapada's Marcos Arce got control of the ball when Fausto Lopez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Chapada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Nunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 26thth minute of the game Umberto Porto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chapada's Marcos Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deivid Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ulisses Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Arabuta's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Tasso came free, but Ulisses Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Porto's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Chapada's Ricardinho Mangueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulisses Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fausto Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Marcos Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulisses Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Umberto Porto made a kick off. Vladimir Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ulisses Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Tasso in the 57th minute of play forced Arabuta's goalkeeper Ulisses Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, one of Arabuta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arabuta. The goalkeeper, Ulisses Netto, was totally fooled by Chapada's Wellington Passos, who 66 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Fausto Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Arabuta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Lopez couldn't finish the play. When Hortêncio Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arabuta's protests and gave Hortêncio Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Hortêncio Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chapada's Deivid Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Chapada's Vladimir Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulisses Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcos Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Porto in the 92nd minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, Chapada's Deivid Neto made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulisses Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chapada eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
