After 7 minutes, Valdemar Rossi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Geraldino FC and the Genuino FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valdemar Rossi hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Botelho in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matheus Quintal saved Geraldino FC from getting behind. Genuino FC's Fabiano Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Pinheiro in the 17th minute of play. Claudinei Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinei Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 20 minutes into the game, one of Geraldino FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 26thth minute of the game Jairo Pinheiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Genuino FC's Fabiano Paulista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Léo Cunha's late challenge caught a Geraldino FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Léo Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Genuino FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Léo Cunha hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Jairo Pinheiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabiano Paulista was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. If Jairo Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Genuino FC's goalkeeper Fabiano Paulista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luizinho Valle. 34 minutes into the match, Genuino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Pinheiro came free, but Fabiano Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Geraldino FC's Jairo Pinheiro fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Ian Barreto hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Genuino FC's Fabiano Paulista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Genuino FC from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the match, Genuino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Pinheiro came free, but Fabiano Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Pinheiro took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Paulista. Fabiano Paulista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Geraldino FC's Valdemar Rossi got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Valdemar Rossi off the ground. Valdemar Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Hugo Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Matheus Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in Genuino FC's zone, Jairo Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Paulista came out of the goal and Jairo Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Geraldino FC booed when Genuino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiano Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute, Jailson de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabiano Paulista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luizinho Valle's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. If Gugu Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Genuino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Valle came free, but Fabiano Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gugu Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Paulista having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Luizinho Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geraldino FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizinho Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Genuino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Lira came free, but Fabiano Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Luizinho Valle notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Genuino FC's Fabiano Paulista. Fabiano Paulista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luizinho Valle in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabiano Paulista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geraldino FC's Jairo Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabiano Paulista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizinho Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gláuber Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Paulista having to interfere. Luizinho Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Genuino FC's zone, Jairo Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Paulista came out of the goal and Jairo Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Geraldino FC had played much better football throughout.
