Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Itapinima's Serginho Hames started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cares AD's Tony Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horácio das Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gildo Pitta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horácio das Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. Serginho Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Luizão Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cares AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Luizão Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrique Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio das Neves struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gildo Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapinima. After a defensive mix-up in Cares AD's zone, Horácio das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gildo Pitta came out of the goal and Horácio das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Itapinima's Horácio das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itapinima's goalkeeper Henrique Urbano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henrique Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Seco in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Umberto Monteiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henrique Urbano skillfully saved the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Tony Motta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapinima's Henrique Urbano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 42 played minutes Cares AD got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Berger. If Horácio das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gildo Pitta was a little too slow when Serginho Hames got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luizão Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luizão Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 54th match minute, Cares AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Seco to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, Itapinima's Serginho Hames sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gildo Pitta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sabino Passos's late challenge caught a Itapinima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sabino Passos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Itapinima booed when Cares AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabino Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Itapinima's Henrique Urbano got control of the ball when Tony Motta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luizão Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrique Urbano came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Cares AD's Tony Motta. But to his dismay, Tony Motta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gildo Pitta came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Itapinima's Horácio das Neves. But to his dismay, Horácio das Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Henrique Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Seco in the 74th minute of the match. Tony Motta struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Henrique Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cares AD. Itapinima's Henrique Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Seco in the 83rd minute of play. Tony Motta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Henrique Urbano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Itapinima's Nilton de Alcântara got a free kick in the 89th minute. Tony Motta came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Henrique Urbano could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Santos in the 94th minute of play forced Cares AD's goalkeeper Gildo Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Horácio das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cares AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Itapinima.
