Enéas Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Cacá Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandacaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cacá Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Guilherme Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Cacá Costa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Luiz Guilherme Linares to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Goiano to make the kick off. The coaching staff of Mandacaia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ulisses Rosado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mandacaia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Egídio de Andrade.
