But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nando Monteiro couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Nóbrega in the 48th minute of play forced Eagle Team's goalkeeper Herman Wallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natã Nóbrega to make the kick off. Dorian Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Natã Nóbrega charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Eagle Team booed when Pirahy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dorian Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Eagle Team fans jumped to their feet. Eagle Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirahy EC the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Eagle Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinu Bociort to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 87 minutes, Luís Fábio Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirahy EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Wágner Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Eagle Team left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pirahy EC.
