In the 13th minute of the match, Carlinhos do Nascimento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yan Ceresso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alfredo Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Gabriel Furlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yan Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Lima in the 20th minute of the match. José Maria de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Alfredo Faustino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Humaita. José Maria de Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelinho Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelinho Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Serio SC booed when Humaita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Lima was the one to do the kick off. Sandro Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Yan Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yan Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Bueno in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match Arí Quadros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yan Ceresso skillfully saved the ball. José Maria de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Alfredo Faustino made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Sandro Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Maria de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Faustino having to interfere. After having played for 66 minutes, Carlinhos Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Humaita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlinhos Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria de Queirós couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Faustino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After 92 played minutes, Serio SC's Arí Quadros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yan Ceresso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Serio SC reached it. In the 98th minute of the match Arí Quadros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yan Ceresso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Humaita's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
