The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Soledade AD. Soledade AD:s Chicão Coelho showed great skill when he stopped Armindo de Senna:s penalty. Hílton Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Soledade AD getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Luís Fábio de Queirós hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Hílton Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galileia AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Hílton Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chicão Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Damião in the 11th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Aluísio Guimarães successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agostinho Lago during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agostinho Lago hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Emílio Fernandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aluísio Guimarães was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Soledade AD's Chicão Coelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Damião in the 17th minute of play. Rafael Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Coelho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Soledade AD's zone, Rafael Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Coelho came out of the goal and Rafael Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitinho Simão hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute Emílio Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aluísio Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Soledade AD getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Chico Amorim hit a great ball. Edgar Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Aluísio Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Emílio Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aluísio Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rafael Damião blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chicão Coelho having to make a save. When Hílton Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Galileia AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hílton Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Rafael Damião struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Chicão Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galileia AD. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Edgar Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soledade AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soledade AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Basílio de Mendonça in the 70th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Damião in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chicão Coelho saved Soledade AD from getting behind. 76 minutes into the match, Soledade AD's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Damião came free, but Chicão Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86thth minute of the game Rafael Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soledade AD's Chicão Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Galileia AD's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Fernandes came free, but Aluísio Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hílton Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
