Roger Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Richard Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Frank Hermes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roger Salles was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 17th match minute, Efigenia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Hermes to maneuver through the defense. Efigenia's José Paulo Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Efigenia from getting a goal against them. Beto Gerber's late challenge caught a Nerds FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beto Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. If Eugênio Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Lira in the 36th minute of play forced Nerds FC's goalkeeper Roger Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugênio Teles in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Paulo Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Acácio Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Acácio Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 played minutes Nerds FC got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Pires. Efigenia's Magno Fontes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 64th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Nerds FC. Roger Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Eugênio Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Leão hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match.
