Tomé Teixeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Mauro Amorim made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as André Veiga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mauro Amorim. That made the score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Dé de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cauipe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ATECUBANOS the free kick. In the 34th minute, Dé de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 40th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bebeto Barral. Elder Meira charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elder Meira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Elder Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Rui Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Amorim having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Rui Neiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mauro Amorim. Cauipe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Neiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Carlos Augusto Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Custódio Cosme having to interfere. When Tomé Teixeira got free in front of the goal in the 72nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Mauro Amorim was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 74th minute Carlos Augusto Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ATECUBANOS had won after a very even match.
