In the 9th minute Filipe Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihkel Kanne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Toledo struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Sandro Vinhas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itas EC. Mateus Branco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandro Vinhas having to make a save. Sandro Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Branco in the 15th minute of play. If Filipe Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihkel Kanne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Meireles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Itas EC's Mihkel Kanne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Arósio in the 29th minute of play. Matarandiba SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Waldir Penha in the 30th minute. The corner ended in Waldir Penha almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Itas EC's Mihkel Kanne did a great save. Marcelinho Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mihkel Kanne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Filipe Meireles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mihkel Kanne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filipe Meireles scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihkel Kanne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Itas EC's zone, Filipe Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihkel Kanne came out of the goal and Filipe Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Marcelinho Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matarandiba SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelinho Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihkel Kanne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Itas EC's Mihkel Kanne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Itas EC from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Filipe Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihkel Kanne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Vinhas having to interfere. In the 63rd minute of the match, Marcelinho Arósio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mihkel Kanne was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sandro Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Branco in the 72nd minute of play forced Matarandiba SC's goalkeeper Sandro Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateus Branco scored 1-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sandro Vinhas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Matarandiba SC's Filipe Meireles got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 77 played minutes Matarandiba SC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Peres. In the 78th minute, Mateus Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Matarandiba SC's Antônio Carlos Campidelis got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute Mateus Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateus Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Sandro Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filipe Meireles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihkel Kanne having to make a save. Deivid Rosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sandro Vinhas. Matarandiba SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Matarandiba SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
