Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Murilo Meireles got the match started through his kick off. Dadá Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Veloso having to interfere. After 5 played minutes Cortada FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Castro. Virgílio Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Mendes in the 6th minute of play. Beto Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Virgílio Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dadá Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Cortada FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Castro. In the 23rd minute, Luís Fabiano Tasso sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cortada FC's Virgílio Veloso didn't even have to move. Dadá Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Virgílio Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piraguara EC's goalkeeper Cléber de Castro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Piraguara EC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Amauri Zonta hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Hortêncio Romero fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cléber de Castro, passed just outside the right post. Hortêncio Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cléber de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Piraguara EC got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Zonta. Virgílio Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dadá Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Beto Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio Romero got free with Cléber de Castro in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beto Vander was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cortada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Vander came free, but Virgílio Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piraguara EC's Dadá Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beto Vander in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgílio Veloso saved Cortada FC from getting behind. Amauri Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hortêncio Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Beto Vander got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beto Vander in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgílio Veloso saved Cortada FC from getting behind. Beto Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Amauri Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hortêncio Romero struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Cléber de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortada FC. 94 minutes into the match, Dadá Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virgílio Veloso. Cortada FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dadá Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.
