Vânderson Prestes took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Gonçalves. Murilo Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored Xuque FC's protests and gave Nestor Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jeguy AD booed when Xuque FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeguy AD's Bruninho da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murilo Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Hames in the 45th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Xuque FC's Nestor Magalhães got a free kick in the 46th minute. Jeguy AD's Bruninho da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Xuque FC's goalkeeper Murilo Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Jeguy AD had won after a very even match.
