Celso Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Paranaense having to interfere. Gilson Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. When Doriva Sena came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Quixere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doriva Sena couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doriva Sena in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Murilo Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Murilo Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Cido Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Xuque FC booed when Quixere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xuque FC's William Pires shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hugo de Brito but with some difficulty. Celso Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Quixere's Doriva Sena in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Xuque FC's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cido Lara in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo de Brito saved Quixere from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doriva Sena in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murilo Paranaense saved Xuque FC from getting behind. Quixere's Hugo de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Lara in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Lara in the 36th minute of play forced Quixere's goalkeeper Hugo de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cido Lara came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Xuque FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cido Lara couldn't finish the play. Vânderson Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Hugo de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vânderson Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Doriva Sena to strike the kick off in the second half. Quixere's Doriva Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Xuque FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Cordeiro. After having played for 60 minutes, Doriva Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quixere's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doriva Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute Doriva Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 played minutes Xuque FC got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Salgado. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Doriva Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quixere's supporters rose to their feet, but Doriva Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 71 played minutes Quixere got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Leite. After recieving a nice pass, Xuque FC's William Pires tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Quixere's Celso Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Xuque FC's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Sena came free, but Murilo Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quixere's Hugo de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Lara in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Vânderson Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Quixere's Henrique Esteves got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute Xuque FC were awarded a corner. William Pires went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that William Pires got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hugo de Brito quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
