In the 6th minute Tarcisio do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Raphael Fernandez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Júlio Recife. Raphael Fernandez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Vágner Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio do Vale in the 13th minute of play. Vágner Simão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Vander in the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Capinha's zone, Tarcisio do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Simão came out of the goal and Tarcisio do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raphael Fernandez hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Tarcisio do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Allan Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Vágner Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Guimarães made a kick off. After 63 minutes of play, São Paulo FC's Tarcisio do Vale made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vágner Simão was left in no man's land by his defense there! Allan Domingues was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Vágner Simão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Vander in the 67th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Doriva Vander notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Capinha's Vágner Simão. Vágner Simão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Doriva Vander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vágner Simão was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. São Paulo FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
