Américo de Alcântara started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Peneiras's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Tinoco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Porto. In the 9th minute, Bruno Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Renato Tinoco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Bruno Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaltino Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Diniz in the 14th minute of play. A hard shot 17 in the game by Marcelo Porto from a close distance when the talented Paulo Renato Tinoco managed to make a qualified save. Peneiras's players were relieved. In a very dangerous position, a player in Peneiras fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Paulo Renato Tinoco, was totally fooled by Cunhupuca's Geovani Bezerra, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 26th match minute, Peneiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes Cunhupuca got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Andrade. Fiori Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Isaltino Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Peneiras's Bruno Teixeira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isaltino Paraíba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Daniel Diniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Bruno Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Peneiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Teixeira couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Peneiras's Paulo Renato Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Porto in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to Peneiras getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Isac Busuioc hit a great ball. Paulo Renato Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Marcelo Porto made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Renato Tinoco. Peneiras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Isaltino Paraíba made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Daniel Diniz sent off a good shot on target. 83 minutes into the match, Peneiras's Fiori Dante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaltino Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulo Renato Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Bruno Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Cunhupuca's Isaltino Paraíba got control of the ball when Fiori Dante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdomiro Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Peneiras's Daniel Diniz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 97th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The Cunhupuca players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
