Vinícius Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juruvalho SC's Benjamin Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Sabóia in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute Jânio Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Artur Maia came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Juruvalho SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Maia couldn't finish the play. Nelsinho Baiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raimundo Novaes's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Aconcágua got a freekick which was hit by Vinícius Barros. The supporters of Juruvalho SC booed when Aconcágua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juruvalho SC's Raimundo Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raimundo Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelsinho Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Maia in the 47th minute of play.

In the 55th match minute, Juruvalho SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Artur Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vinícius Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. Vinícius Barros took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Baptista. Benjamin Baptista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 67 minutes into the match, Aconcágua's goal looked a bit too open when Christiano Azevedo came free, but Nelsinho Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonsinho Rosado hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Aconcágua defense, Artur Maia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelsinho Baiano. The Aconcágua fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelsinho Baiano should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raimundo Novaes in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Baiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Juruvalho SC's Raimundo Novaes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nelsinho Baiano. That made the score 1-2 after 78 minutes of play. After 83 played minutes Aconcágua got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson de Souza. After some careless play in the Juruvalho SC defense, Jânio Sabóia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Baptista. The Juruvalho SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Baptista should have stopped the shot. Vinícius Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
