The supporters of Igarate EC booed when L L 1990 4 Ever was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renatinho Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute Duda Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 16 minutes, Luiz Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Igarate EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the match, L L 1990 4 Ever's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Vasconcelos came free, but Décio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, L L 1990 4 Ever's Renatinho Vidal got a free kick in the 20th minute. Betinho Ceresso was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Décio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duda Bittencourt in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto de Castro saved Igarate EC from getting behind. Jacinto das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, L L 1990 4 Ever's Ricardo Leal got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 44 minutes, Marcus Meirelles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the L L 1990 4 Ever and the Igarate EC players grew even worse after the yellow card.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duda Bittencourt to make the kick off. Luiz Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Décio Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Igarate EC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Fabrício de Andrade hit a great ball. Ernesto Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Igarate EC's Betinho Ceresso tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, L L 1990 4 Ever's Décio Antunes got control of the ball when Luiz Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luiz Vasconcelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Décio Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Jacinto das Neves fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Luiz Vasconcelos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Décio Antunes having to make a save. Luiz Vasconcelos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Igarate EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 84 minutes into the match, Igarate EC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovânio de Mendonça came free, but Ernesto de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Geovânio de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. L L 1990 4 Ever's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovânio de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Geovânio de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. L L 1990 4 Ever's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovânio de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto de Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernesto de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duda Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. L L 1990 4 Ever were victorious despite being under pressure from Igarate EC for much of the match.
