The referee ignored Affonso's protests and gave Albertinho Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. Albertinho Peixoto hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 40thth minute of the game Wilton de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Magno's Matías Maranhense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gonçalo Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Otávio Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Maranhense. Magno's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otávio Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton de Amaral in the 46th minute of play forced Magno's goalkeeper Matías Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Affonso were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Perivaldo da Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. Wilton de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute of the match, Wilton de Amaral tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Matías Maranhense saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wilton de Amaral had several of the Magno's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Matías Maranhense as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thanks to some nice moves Otávio Matos could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Matías Maranhense however easily saved by the left post. Wilton de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Matías Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Affonso's Wilton de Amaral in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Magno's goalie prevented a goal. Affonso's Wilton de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otávio Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matías Maranhense having to interfere. Matías Maranhense stood somewhat misplaced when Otávio Matos came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 88 minute. When the match was over Affonso could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Magno throughout the match.
