Cujubim's Elivélton Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Durval Velloso put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Douglas Neves. After 17 minutes Cujubim's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Raphael Paiva who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Guaxi's corner Raphael Paiva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Guto Leão quite easily take care of the ball. Cujubim's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eduardo Dracena 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Breno Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Leão having to interfere. The supporters of Cujubim booed when Guaxi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breno Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Cujubim's Durval Velloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Douglas Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Júnior Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Eduardo Dracena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guto Leão. Cujubim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Dracena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience was convinced that Elivélton Pombal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Neves was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Guaxi's zone, Durval Velloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Neves came out of the goal and Durval Velloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elivélton Pombal struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Douglas Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cujubim. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guaxi's goalkeeper Douglas Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Guaxi! 70 minutes into the game, one of Guaxi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Leandro Tasso shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 73rd minute, Júnior Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denílson de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Douglas Neves made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Elivélton Pombal sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Eduardo Dracena put it in 4-3 from a short distance just to the right of Guto Leão. A collision led to Guaxi getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Júnior Zanette hit a great ball. Cujubim's Leandro Tasso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Guaxi. In the 85th minute, Denílson de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Durval Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Guaxi's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Durval Velloso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 95thth minute of the game Breno Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cujubim's Guto Leão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cujubim's Elivélton Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Reis in the 99th minute of play. Cujubim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
