Rafa Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Sidney Veiga hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Ricardo Gueifão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Hélio Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo de Brito. Bardo SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélio Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With an all-out effort, Bardo SC's Rafa Leme threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Geovani Tasso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 41 minutes into the game, Ricardo Gueifão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hamburgberg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bardo SC the free kick. The supporters of Bardo SC booed when Hamburgberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Gueifão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reynaldo Viana was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tales Recife in the 55th minute of play forced Hamburgberg's goalkeeper Rafa Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elói Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hamburgberg's Rafa Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Recife in the 71st minute of play. Elder Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Rafa Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 minutes, Eugênio de Godoy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bardo SC and the Hamburgberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bardo SC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Horácio Ceresso hit a great ball. Rômulo Senna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hugo de Brito. Bardo SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hamburgberg eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
