Gravatahy's Deivid Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Viana in the 6th minute of play. When Reynaldo Viana got free in front of the goal in the 6th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Deivid Goiano was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hamburgberg's Semen Chernichenko got a free kick in the 8th minute. Semen Chernichenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Deivid Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Gueifão struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Deivid Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburgberg. Rafa Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Paiva in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Gravatahy's Gerson Mazza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafa Leme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Reynaldo Viana's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Deivid Goiano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With 30 minutes on the clock, Elivélton das Neves commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 30th minute, one of Hamburgberg:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hamburgberg. Rafa Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hamburgberg's Reynaldo Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murillo Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Semen Chernichenko made a precise shot to the right of Deivid Goiano. Gravatahy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 54th minute Semen Chernichenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deivid Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Hélio Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hamburgberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hélio Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Deivid Goiano. Gravatahy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 64 minutes into the match, Hamburgberg's goalkeeper Rafa Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juarês Montenegro. In the 96th minute, Gerson Mazza made a precise shot to the right of Rafa Leme. Hamburgberg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Chants of Gravatahy echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Hamburgberg had held the ball for most of the match.
