The audience thought a goal was coming when João Paulo Tróia got free with Custódio Félix in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Custódio Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Batista in the 16th minute of play. If Cauã Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Wiliam Batista recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Custódio Félix. Wiliam Batista showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a little luck, Juritianha FC's Custódio Félix got control of the ball when Roberto Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute, Fernando Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Juritianha FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Alexandre Nogueira hit a great ball. Wiliam Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Custódio Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernando Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Diguinho Camargo, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Antônio Carlos França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Custódio Félix made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wiliam Batista was the one to do the kick off. When Armando de Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juritianha FC's protests and gave Armando de Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute of the match Antônio Carlos França sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Custódio Félix skillfully saved the ball. Juritianha FC's Washington Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 67 minutes Juritianha FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Diguinho Camargo who took care of the corner kick. Bebeto de Queirós tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Custódio Félix. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 67th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro do Sul's João Paulo Tróia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Custódio Félix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Custódio Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiliam Batista in the 73rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that João Paulo Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Custódio Félix was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
