Glauco Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Paulo Tróia in the 46th minute of play forced Toboco FC's goalkeeper Glauco Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Humberto Vides was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Toboco FC's zone, Wiliam Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glauco Leme came out of the goal and Wiliam Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Cruzeiro do Sul's goalkeeper Duarte Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Duarte Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Faria in the 82nd minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, João Paulo Tróia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Glauco Leme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Toboco FC's Osvaldinho Matos pulled a muscle in his leg after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Fabinho Carneiro's late challenge caught a Toboco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabinho Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro do Sul's Fabinho Carneiro got a free kick in the 88th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Lúcio Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toboco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Paulo Tróia took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Glauco Leme. Glauco Leme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After a rather tough play, Toboco FC's Renato Varela got a free kick in the 97th minute.
