Castelhanos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eritreia EC the free kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marquinhos Perez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marquinhos Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Oséias Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Eurico Pontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Travassos was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Eurico Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amadeu de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Marquinhos Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marquinhos Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Eritreia EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu de Castro should have stopped the shot. When Osvaldinho Veloso fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castelhanos's protests and gave Osvaldinho Veloso a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Castelhanos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
