Carlos Fernando Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal do Valle in the 18th minute of play forced Paxiuba's goalkeeper Fiori Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal do Valle was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Felipe do Valle's late challenge caught a Salina SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe do Valle helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Salina SC booed when Paxiuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernani de Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani de Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Salina SC's Hernani de Lara got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Mauro Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fiori Paraibano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hernani de Lara hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Mauro Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paxiuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Fernando Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugênio Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
