In the 6th minute, Portuguesa SS's Valdo do Vale seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdo do Vale the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Portuguesa SS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdo do Vale had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Abel Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernão Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Tiago Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Guilherme Severo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 played minutes, Casmorra SS's Mazinho Prado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Abel Macedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Casmorra SS reached it. If Renatinho Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Fernão Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Portuguesa SS's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Negri came free, but Abel Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Portuguesa SS's Abel Macedo got control of the ball when Renatinho Negri tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Portuguesa SS's zone, Fernão Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Macedo came out of the goal and Fernão Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tiago Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Brito in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernão Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. Guilherme Severo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Fonseca in the 55th minute. When Mazinho Prado fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Casmorra SS's protests and gave Mazinho Prado a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Casmorra SS's Mazinho Prado got a free kick in the 56th minute. Portuguesa SS's Tiago Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portuguesa SS's Cristiano Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Nilton Santana fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Casmorra SS's protests and gave Nilton Santana a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Casmorra SS got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Santana. With a little luck, Casmorra SS's Guilherme Severo got control of the ball when Tiago Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 78 played minutes Portuguesa SS got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Brito. Luís Fernando Sabóia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abel Macedo. Portuguesa SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiago Fonseca got free with Guilherme Severo in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nilton Santana got his second yellow card in the match during the 85th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 87th minute of the match, Tiago Fonseca got a very nice opportunity to score, but Guilherme Severo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tiago Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Portuguesa SS getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Adelino Fernandes hit a great ball. Casmorra SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
