With his leg Nestor Paraíba managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Ibiatiara's Váldson Pinho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 17th minute Jânio Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 minutes, Jânio Fantini made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cidade Alta FC's Nestor Paraíba tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cidade Alta FC's Nestor Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Cidade Alta FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiatiara's zone, Edvaldo Bertassi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Mesquita came out of the goal and Edvaldo Bertassi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frédson Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 minutes, Celsinho Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibiatiara and the Cidade Alta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celsinho Koehler hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Jano Eger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavinho Mesquita having to make a save. José Vítor Antunes took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavinho Mesquita. Flavinho Mesquita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Vítor Antunes in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavinho Mesquita saved Ibiatiara from getting behind. In the 44th match minute, Cidade Alta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. Ibiatiara's Váldson Pinho suffered a sore thigh after 48 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Eusébio Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cidade Alta FC's protests and gave Eusébio Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Cidade Alta FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ibiatiara:s goal. In the 51st minute, Ibiatiara got a penalty, and Benedito Messias placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Vítor Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Jano Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Mesquita having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Frédson Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibiatiara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cidade Alta FC the free kick. The supporters of Cidade Alta FC booed when Ibiatiara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédson Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62ndth minute of the game José Vítor Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibiatiara's Flavinho Mesquita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 63 minutes, Hernani Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibiatiara and the Cidade Alta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hernani Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Ibiatiara's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when José Vítor Antunes scored to the left of an out of position Flavinho Mesquita, making the score, 3-3. In the 70th minute, José Vítor Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jano Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Bertassi's late challenge caught a Ibiatiara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edvaldo Bertassi helped the player get up and apologised. Flavinho Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jânio Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Cidade Alta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Fantini came free, but Nestor Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
