Iaciara's Frederico Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Váldson Pinho in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th minute Jânio Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Ibiatiara's Benedito Messias got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Frederico Correia. In the 65th minute, Iaciara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Váldson Pinho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 87 minutes into the match, Iaciara's goalkeeper Frederico Correia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Váldson Pinho. Frederico Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Fonseca in the 93rd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ibiatiara walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
