José Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Alves in the 4th minute of play forced Claro's goalkeeper Agenor Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Naldo Moura got free with Claudinho do Vale in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudinho do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Palestra's goalkeeper Claudinho do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fiori Damião. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fiori Damião in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claro's Agenor Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Alves in the 13th minute of play. Jardel da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naldo Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Claudinho do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fiori Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Claro's Fiori Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinho do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Kaká Donato kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Claro defense, Jardel da Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agenor Cerezo. The Claro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agenor Cerezo should have stopped the shot. When Claro's Fiori Damião in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palestra's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fiori Damião in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes Claro got a freekick which was hit by José Cerezo. Palestra's Claudinho do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo França in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute of the match Claro got a corner. Palestra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vito Donato ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Vito Donato almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palestra's Claudinho do Vale did a great save. In the 62nd minute of the match, Jardel da Silveira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Agenor Cerezo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 65 minutes into the match, Claro's goalkeeper Agenor Cerezo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jardel da Silveira. Jardel da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Luiz Guilherme Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Agenor Cerezo, 2-2. Agenor Cerezo made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Jardel da Silveira sent off a good shot on target. José Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Fiori Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Claro's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 89 minutes of play, Palestra's Jardel da Silveira made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agenor Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there!
