The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronaldão de Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of ƁƦƈ †ɪʍɛ 4Ɨ20 ŁØҜØ booed when Diplomatas F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Délio Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Neiva hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Jairo Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldão de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Dante in the 39th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, ƁƦƈ †ɪʍɛ 4Ɨ20 ŁØҜØ's goal looked a bit too open when Délio Peixoto came free, but Ronaldão de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Gustavo Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Dante made a kick off. 53 minutes in the game, Délio Peixoto fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ronaldão de Souza having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Délio Peixoto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ronaldão de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Luís Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Délio Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão de Souza having to interfere. Délio Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Ronaldão de Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diplomatas F.C.. David Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ronaldão de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Délio Peixoto hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Juninho Diniz charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juninho Diniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes ƁƦƈ †ɪʍɛ 4Ɨ20 ŁØҜØ got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Diniz. Diplomatas F.C. made a substitution. Raimundo Negri replaced David Dante. In the 81st match minute, ƁƦƈ †ɪʍɛ 4Ɨ20 ŁØҜØ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldão de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, ƁƦƈ †ɪʍɛ 4Ɨ20 ŁØҜØ's goalkeeper Ronaldão de Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Negri. The Diplomatas F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Diplomatas F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
