Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arí Alvarenga took the kick off in the first half of the match. Lúcio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 6 minutes of play, Piria's Leonardo Arósio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lúcio Domingues was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th minute, Flávio Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leonardo Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Piria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Arósio couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Leonardo Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Piria's Leonardo Arósio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lúcio Domingues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 23rd minute of the match, Arí Alvarenga tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luizão Figueiredo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 26 minutes into the match, MAIOR DE MINAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Andrade came free, but Lúcio Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauro Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizão Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Alvarenga in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes MAIOR DE MINAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Munhoz. Leonardo Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Leonardo Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Piria defense, Manuel Cavalcante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Figueiredo. The Piria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. Thiago Meira hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Leonardo Arósio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Sergipano during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Piria getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Celso Sergipano hit a great ball. Ivo Linares hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, MAIOR DE MINAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Arósio came free, but Lúcio Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lúcio Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Arósio in the 92nd minute of play. When Thiago Meira fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piria's protests and gave Thiago Meira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th match minute, Piria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Meira to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
