In the 5th minute of the match Dorival Andrade shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Moisés Moreno showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Guga Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naldo Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Luiz Fernando Moura fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipomeia's protests and gave Luiz Fernando Moura a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ipomeia's Luiz Fernando Moura got a free kick in the 15th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naldo Mendes made a kick off. Frederico Loyola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Guga Sampaio made a huge save. Guga Sampaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naldo Mendes's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Ipomeia's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moisés Moreno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Leme's late challenge caught a Ipomeia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Leme helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ipomeia booed when Gremio Esportivo Brasil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. After having played for 80 minutes, Silas Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipomeia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silas Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moisés Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Mesquita in the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Naldo Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kaká Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Ipomeia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
