The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão Pernambucano during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 36th minute, Vânderson Eger sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Urupu EC's Miguel Koehler didn't even have to move. 40 minutes into the match, Pedro Augusto Mazza notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Urupu EC's Miguel Koehler. Miguel Koehler was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luís Fernando Prestes hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Shanghai FC's Ediberto de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Goiano in the 45th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Urupu EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shanghai FC:s goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Paulo Fonseca to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59thth minute of the game Pedro Paulo Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Urupu EC's Miguel Koehler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pedro Paulo Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Miguel Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Fonseca in the 67th minute of play. Pedro Paulo Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Augusto Mazza might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Koehler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Augusto Mazza ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 72nd minute, Dadá Goiano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ediberto de Alcântara, passed just outside the right post. During the 78th minute of the match Paulão Pernambucano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulão Pernambucano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Pedro Augusto Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Koehler having to interfere. Shanghai FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
