Michel Bertassi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráusio Palmeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Matheus Recife hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The audience cheered loudly when Mathias Perez's long shot in the 15th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Dráusio Palmeira. If Ezequiel Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Pedrão Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flamengo's Eriberto Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Recife in the 26th minute of play. Pedrão Nunes's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedrão Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. Flamengo's Abelardo Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the game, Michel Bertassi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dráusio Palmeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Michel Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio Palmeira having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Matheus Recife was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. WBYRNE SPORT CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Abelardo Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dráusio Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrão Nunes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, WBYRNE SPORT CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Guedes to maneuver through the defense. When Alexsandro Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamengo's protests and gave Alexsandro Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st minute, Alexsandro Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. WBYRNE SPORT CLUB's Gugu Velasco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Flamengo. If Michel Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Paraibano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eriberto Meirelles. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ezequiel Paraibano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. WBYRNE SPORT CLUB's Pedrão Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flamengo's Michel Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráusio Palmeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abelardo Esteves's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Michel Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Abelardo Esteves sped through WBYRNE SPORT CLUB's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dráusio Palmeira. Dráusio Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Bertassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, WBYRNE SPORT CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Esteves came free, but Dráusio Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flamengo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
