In the 34thth minute of the game Joaquim Santos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapinima's Silvério Sarmento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Augusto Berger's late challenge caught a Mandu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Berger helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Itapinima's Augusto Berger got a free kick in the 34th minute. Itapinima's Silvério Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Santos in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 49 minutes, Fiori Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapinima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mandu EC's goalkeeper Guga Ortiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rony Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Sarmento having to interfere. When Mandu EC's Rony Ribeiro, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mandu EC. Mandu EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
