Hélio Linares didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Jeritaco EC's Sílvio Luiz Peres shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of Jeritaco EC booed when Peixe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederico Santana took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ediberto Duarte. Jeritaco EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ediberto Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Vinhas in the 15th minute of play. Renato Vinhas struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ediberto Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peixe. In the 21st minute, Aírton Bueno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peixe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 25 played minutes Peixe got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Neves. Peixe's Hélio Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Peres in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Aírton Bueno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ediberto Duarte. Jeritaco EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aírton Bueno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Renato Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peixe's Aírton Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Mathias Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aírton Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Jeritaco EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peixe were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aírton Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. Conrado Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sílvio Luiz Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hélio Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes in the game, Renato Vinhas fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ediberto Duarte having to interfere. Hélio Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luiz Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute of the match Edmílson Diniz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélio Linares skillfully saved the ball. Peixe's Hélio Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Peres in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Vinhas got free with Ediberto Duarte in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 83 minutes, Conrado Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jeritaco EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peixe's Hélio Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Garcia in the 88th minute of play. If Aírton Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Peixe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peixe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
