To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, America Mg's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Perez came free, but Válter de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matías Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válter de Alcântara having to interfere. Canhuma's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
