An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Netto in the 15th minute of play forced Sambaiba's goalkeeper Lauro Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Piscamba SS's zone, Eusébio Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio de Queirós came out of the goal and Eusébio Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piscamba SS's goalkeeper Fábio de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fábio de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diego Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio de Queirós having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Eusébio Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sambaiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andrézinho Netto made a kick off. Luiz Gustavo Vasconcelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauro Meira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Andrézinho Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
