After 20 minutes, Sebastião Massa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arreios FC and the Argola players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Argola booed when Arreios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Perivaldo Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. When Elder Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arreios FC's protests and gave Elder Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. Arreios FC's Filipe Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor de Queirós in the 60th minute of play. Arreios FC's Diogo Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisinho Neto charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisinho Neto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 67 in the game by Diogo Messias from a close distance when the talented Orlando Couto managed to make a qualified save. Argola's players were relieved. 70 minutes into the match, Argola's goalkeeper Orlando Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diogo Messias. After having played for 71 minutes, Diogo Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arreios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Senna was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Arreios FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Filipe Cordeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luisinho Neto went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Perivaldo Rezende might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filipe Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Perivaldo Rezende ran back to his position shaking his head. Perivaldo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Argola's Luisinho Neto got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Luisinho Neto off the ground. The supporters of Arreios FC booed when Argola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
