In the 21st minute Augusto Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dé Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Quirino in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Ricardo Freire reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodoro Salgado. The goal made the score 2-0. After 29 minutes, Augusto Maia made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Biquinha's Dé Castro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Durval Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genílson Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 50 minutes of play Hawaii FC's Genílson Rezende was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 49th minute of the game. One of Hawaii FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Biquinha:s goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Hawaii FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Fernando Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Carlos Fernando Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Teodoro Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 98 minutes, Carlos Fernando Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Biquinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Fernando Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Biquinha fully deserved thier win.
