The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marezinha's Diamantino Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gualter de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Armandinho Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armandinho Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th match minute, INDUSTRIAL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Vítor Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gualter de Andrade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualter de Andrade in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armandinho Oliveira saved INDUSTRIAL FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, INDUSTRIAL FC's Jorge Dracena got a free kick in the 54th minute. Diamantino Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Oliveira having to interfere. Rodolfo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Armandinho Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter de Andrade in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Marezinha booed when INDUSTRIAL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Diamantino Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Gualter de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, INDUSTRIAL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter de Andrade came free, but Armandinho Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Oliveira having to interfere. The INDUSTRIAL FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Marezinha from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
