The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, Severino Vaz made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. INDUSTRIAL FC's Armandinho Oliveira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind INDUSTRIAL FC's goalkeeper Armandinho Oliveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Severino Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Oliveira having to interfere. Rodolfo Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Sydney Cruz made a huge save. Armandinho Oliveira came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by AF São Francisco's Severino Vaz. But to his dismay, Severino Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. INDUSTRIAL FC's Rodolfo Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Armandinho Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Zé Paulo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
